We are currently looking for contributors to help us generate new photo collections, photography tips, tutorials, and anything else “photo” related.

As a contributor you will have a unique login to our WordPress dashboard and be given a custom bio at the end of each post to promote and share your own website or portfolio.

Contributor Instructions

As a contributor it’s easy to share a collection of great images or a photography tip with the readers of photocrave.net. Check out this article to get started!

1. Getting Started

FIRST, if you have not already please register with our website and customize your bio. For your contributing efforts we have included an author bio at the bottom of each post. This will give the readers a chance to learn more about you and find your website and social media profiles.

Click here to register. If you don’t have an avatar (online image) click here to get one for free, this will be displayed in your bio.

2. Creating Photo Collections From Flickr (or other post type)

You have the creative freedom to put together any type of post as long as it directly relates to photography. Most of our articles are collections of images from Flickr because its easy and those posting on flickr generally want to share their great work.

Flickr makes is easy to find a great image and share it on any site by providing the code to that image.

1. Once you have found an image you would like to include in your post, click on the “Share” button above the image, choose “Medium 640” from the drop down and copy the html code in the box.

2. With the code copied, simply paste it into the “HTML” tab of your post.

3. Hit “Enter” on your keyboard to skip a space and repeat the process.

* you may notice that some images dont allow you to copy the HTML. These photographers dont want to share their images. Just move to the next one…

3. Applying a Featured Image

Every post on Photocrave.net must have a featured image. This is the image that shows on the homepage and top of the article.

To apply the featured image click on the “Set Featured Image” link on the bottom right sidebar.

Browse for the file and then click “Use as featured image”

4. Saving your Post

When you are finished with your post be sure to choose the correct category and then select “Pending Review” before saving the post. Each post with then be reviewed and scheduled for publishing.
